Dear colleagues,

The RBMS Controlled Vocabularies Editorial Group (CVEG) will hold its November meeting on Monday, November 10 from 3-4 pm ET (2 CT/1 MT/ 12 PT). The agenda is available here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IpByYP5A1W6Z4ipJb-7F1yPqx7AN9C8T8VqqVO5uX8s/edit?tab=t.0>, and the zoom link is included in the agenda. We will be discussing several new term proposals, and we welcome anyone who is interested to attend and participate in meetings.

Here are the minutes from the October CVEG meeting<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Cd7DebCUlUkA5S-0qmO2096QFF0CNaWMW-hDE8pKxFQ/edit?tab=t.0>.

We would also like to remind you that we have the Provenance markings terms<https://docs.google.com/document/d/16sAiWOGTDonjze15XxpD_di-ZgFEIOxLhTsUMZ1zkHU/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.1ugqcw8nr2u9> document open for feedback through next Friday, November 7, 2025. It includes proposals for new scope notes and revisions for terms in the provenance markings section of the Controlled Vocabulary for Rare Materials Cataloging (CVRMC) and corresponding terms in the RBMS Relationship Designators. These terms include Autographs, Inscriptions, Annotations, signer, inscriber, and annotator, among others. The goal is to bring consistency and clarity to these related terms, many of which do not have existing scope notes. Due to the significance of these terms for many in the rare materials community and the complex nature of the changes, we are seeking community feedback earlier in the process than when we post accepted terms and revisions on the CVEG blog for public comment. We welcome you to comment directly in the Google document, or, if you prefer, to email the CVEG co-editors at vocabularies at rbms.info<mailto:vocabularies at rbms.info>.

Thank you!

Best,
Sarah Hoover and Jenny Bradshaw
CVEG co-editors
