[DCRM-L] Time estimates for DCRM(G) cataloging of British 18th-c. prints?

Dear Collective Wisdom,

Help! I've been asked to give a time estimate for a possible grant project. We've got a backlog of about 600 minimally-described and 250 undescribed prints, and a potential donor to fund full cataloging (hooray!). They're all 18th- and early 19th-century British, and they relate to actors, actresses, and the theater in general.

It's been so long since we've been able to do any sustained print cataloging at the Folger that I haven't a clue how much time it might take to catalog these 850 prints (including creating name authority records as needed for artists, printmakers, publishers, and sitters).

If anyone has any guidelines they could share, I'd be grateful, and I'll compile anonymized data to post back to the list so that it gets into the archives for future reference.

Many thanks,

Erin
