[DCRM-L] RBMS Controlled Vocabularies: terms for public comment and meeting 2/9

Dear colleagues,

The RBMS Controlled Vocabularies Editorial Group (CVEG) is announcing a new batch of terms available for public comment on our blog. These terms are from the Provenance Markings Terms project that we shared in draft form in the fall. There are proposed scope notes and revisions for existing terms in the RBMS Controlled Vocabulary for Rare Materials Cataloging (CVRMC) and the RBMS Relationship Designators as well as a new term proposal for CVRMC. Terms will be available for public comment from January 29, 2026 through February 12, 2026. After the public review period, CVEG will discuss the comments and make necessary changes before updating the vocabulary.

To comment, please respond to the appropriate term post. The terms for this review period are:

Additionally, CVEG will hold its February meeting on Monday, February 9 from 3-4 pm ET (2 CT/1 MT/ 12 PT). We welcome anyone who is interested to attend and participate in meetings. Visiting a meeting is also a great way to get a sense of the work the committee does if you are considering volunteering for the next committee cycle. The volunteer form<https://www.ala.org/acrl/membership/volunteer/volunteer> for 2026-2028 RBMS terms is open now through February 28, 2026.
